Jean’s passion is to help people with their journey with food. For whatever the reasons. It might be medical, aesthetic or just to be more energetic and healthier, she believes food is God given to edify our bodies and must be and can be enjoyed.
“Nothing makes me happier to see lives transformed to optimal health. I am passionate about using diet and lifestyle modification as a part of this process”
Jean has been in practice as a Dietician for the last 18 years, in Durban and Umhlanga and also has a Food technology background.
“Depending on your goals, medical history, your palate, lifestyle, budget, convenience and developments along the way, your walk with food is dynamic and keeps evolving as you move forward. I believe in customizing your eating plan to suit you perfectly and achieve your goals”.
Over the last 18 years Jean has had the privilege and pleasure of helping people with this, throughout the Durban, Umhlanga and surrounding areas.
I am passionate about the great impact nutrition has on a persons health and wellness. I completed my BSc Dietetics honors degree at Stellenbosch University in 2016. The following year I was placed at Kuruman Hospital to complete my community service year in the northern cape, working in the rural health system.
In 2017 I moved back to the western cape and started working at a private hospital (Vergelegen Mediclinic) in Cape Town treating surgical and medical patients as well as forming part of an accredited bariatric team. In 2019 I moved to KZN and started work at Jean Ernest Dietitians.
I believe in a holistic approach to reaching nutrition goals and finding a healthy balance, both in the kitchen and outdoors.
As a dietitian I am grateful to have the opportunity of guiding people along their journey to a healthier life.
